Leonardo DiCaprio To Produce & Star In ‘Another Round’ Remake

At the 93rd Academy Awards this weekend, the Mads Mikkelsen-starring Danish film Another Round took home the trophy for Best International Film. Now, it seems American film studios are looking to capitalize on the movie’s success. As first reported by Deadline, Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way production banner has secured the rights to a remake of the feature.
Additionally, the film is being developed as a starring vehicle for the Oscar-winning DiCaprio. He will executive produce the film alongside his longtime collaborator Jennifer Davisson (The Revenant). Moreover, Endeavor Content and Makeready Productions will handle financing and domestic distribution of the picture. Another Round writer/director Thomas Vinterberg will also be directly involved in the film’s development.

The film follows a group of four teachers in the midst of a midlife crisis. The friends decide to experiment with raising their blood alcohol levels as a way to make life more interesting. However, as one might imagine, the experiment quickly goes array and launches a bevy of disasters for the teachers.
Thanks to his iconic work in The Revenant, Leonardo DiCaprio finally picked up the Oscar for Best Actor a few years ago. Up next, he will star in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon. Additionally, the legendary actor will star alongside fellow Oscar winner Jennifer Lawerence in Adam McKay’s Netflix comedy Don’t Look Up.
