Dwayne Johnson To Voice Krypto The Super-Dog In WB’s ‘DC League of Super-Pets’ Movie

Dwayne Johnson is currently in the middle of production for the highly-anticipated DC film Black Adam. However, it appears the man formerly known as The Rock is going to continue his working relationship with DC in a new, albeit unexpected, endeavor. As first reported by Variety, Johnson will voice the Krypto the Super-Dog in DC’s upcoming League of Super-Pets movie.
Krypto’s first appearance was in a Superboy story in Adventure Comics #210 in March 1955. Created by writer Otto Binder and artist Curt Swan, Krypto is Superman’s pet dog, usually resembling a Labrador Retriever. Krypto has appeared in numerous cartoon television shows and films, including DC’s Titans. The super-dog has all the same powers associated with Superman, including super strength, super speed, heat vision, and flight.

Robot and Monster helmer Sam Levine will direct the feature that follows Krypto teaming up with a flying cat to stop crime while Superman is on vacation. Additionally, Dwayne Johnson will produce the film alongside Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia via his Seven Bucks Productions.
Dwayne Johnson remains one of the busiest men in Hollywood. In addition to his upcoming DCEU film Black Adam and the development of Hobbs & Shaw 2, the actor recently produced and starred in an NBC series based on his own life titled Young Rock. Up next, The former 6-time WWE Champion stars alongside Emily Blunt in Disney’s Jungle Cruise.
