‘Hawkeye’ Spinoff Focused On Echo In Development For Disney+

Marvel Studios reportedly has big plans for a new character debuting in Hawkeye. According to Variety, a spinoff series focused on Echo is in early development for Disney+.
Created by David Mack and Joe Quesada, Maya Lopez first appeared in 1999’s Daredevil #9. Often portrayed as a supporting character of Daredevil, Echo has previously gone by the alias Ronin. Echo is a skilled martial artist, a highly adept gymnast, and is one of the few deaf comic characters.

Ethan Cohen and Emily Cohen are attached to write and executive produce the series. The writers’ room is currently being assembled for the show. Neither Marvel Studios nor Alaqua Cox, who will play Echo in Hawkeye, have commented on the potential spinoff.
The upcoming Hawkeye series will star Jeremy Renner as the Avenger Clint Barton. Hawkeye will reportedly feature Barton training a new hero named Kate Bishop. Additionally, Bumblebee‘s Hailee Steinfeld will star as Bishop. Jonathon Igla, who has previously worked on Mad Men, is writing the series. A handful of episodes are set to be directed by Bert and Bertie, and Rhys Thomas. Additional rumors tease appearances by The Clown and The Tracksuit Mafia as well.
