‘Hawkeye’ Has Reportedly Locked Down Hailee Steinfeld To Play Kate Bishop

Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye may have finally found its Kate Bishop. According to The Illuminerdi, Hailee Steinfeld has signed on to star in the series alongside Jeremy Renner.
In September, it was reported that Steinfeld was in talks for the role. However, additional reports claimed that Steinfeld was not in active negotiations for Kate Bishop. This situation seems to have since changed. The Illuminerdi’s report claims that Steinfeld and Renner are now both officially set to star in the series, which will begin production in October.
A report from MCU Cosmic has since come out backing up much of The Illuminerdi’s claims and clarifying some particulars. They report that the deal is not 100% official as no contract has been signed as of now. The deal is reportedly “99%” complete, and it could be closed as early as this week.

In March, Steinfeld was supposedly set to meet with Marvel regarding the role; however, that same week, Hollywood shut down due to the pandemic. As a result, it was impossible to know what happened during the meeting, causing this delay in announcements.
So what this all means is that Steinfeld has secured the role; however, as of now, it is not officially in writing. Fans could expect an official report or confirmation from Steinfeld and Marvel either this week or in the near future.
