Thursday, it was announced that actress Alaqua Cox had signed on to play Echo in Marvel’s Hawkeye. Now footage from the set of the Disney+ series has revealed the first look at the star in character.
Created by David Mack and Joe Quesada, Maya Lopez first appeared in 1999’s Daredevil #9. Often portrayed as a supporting character of Daredevil, Echo has previously gone by the alias Ronin. Echo is a skilled martial artist, a highly adept gymnast, and is one of the few deaf comic characters.
While not revealing any details, the footage above features the first look at Cox in character as Echo. It has not been confirmed how large of a role the character will have in the series, so for now, that is up for speculation. Hopefully, as filming continues, a clearer look at Echo will be revealed along with more information about her character.
