Forest Whitaker Joins Tom Hardy In Gareth Evans’ Netflix Film ‘Havoc’

Netflix’s original content continues to enlist the services of big names actors and filmmakers alike. In 2021 alone, the streamer will releases films starring Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot and others directed by Zack Snyder and Guillermo del Toro. Up next, Netflix will produce a new action-thriller hailing from The Raid director Gareth Evans titled Havoc. As first reported by Deadline, Forest Whitaker and Tom Hardy are set to lead the film’s cast.
Evans will write and direct the picture as well as produce via his One More One production banner. Additionally, Tom Hardy will serve as one of the film’s executive producers along with Ed Talfan (Denmark) and Aram Tertzakian (The Raid 2).

Havoc’s plot begins following a drug deal gone array. An injured detective with a bruised ego attempts to battle his way through a dark, criminal underworld in pursuit of the son of a high-profile politician. However, as the story unfolds, so does a mystery dripping in corruption and conspiracy that threatens to impact the entire city.
The upcoming feature will be Whitaker’s second collaboration with Netflix in recent months. The Academy Award winner flexes his musical abilities in the critically adored film Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey. Additionally, the Black Panther star touts recent appearances in hit films like Sorry to Bother You and the Epix TV series Godfather of Harlem. Up next, Whitaker will join fellow Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson in the Aretha Franklin biopic Respect. Meanwhile, Tom Hardy recently turned heads as the crime lord Al Capone in Josh Trank’s Capone. Up next, The Dark Knight Rises star will reprise his role as Eddie Brock in the sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage.
