Anne Hathaway & Jared Leto To Star In Apple TV’s ‘WeCrashed’ Series

Just one day after reports that Jared Leto will star in Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming film Adrift, the Oscar winner is lining up yet another starring role. This time, he will team with his fellow Academy Award-winning performer. As first reported by Variety, Jared Leto is set to team up with Anne Hathaway in an upcoming series in the works at Apple TV+.
The project, titled WeCrashed, will be an adaptation of the critically acclaimed podcast with the same name. The story follows the rise and inevitable fall of WeWork, a controversial American commercial real estate company that provides flexible shared workspaces for technology startups. Per the initial report, the company creators are greed-filled narcissists with a chaotic love that somehow made it all work.
Lee Eisenberg (Good Boys) and Drew Crevello (Tomb Raider) will co-write and executive produce the show in addition to serving as its co-showrunners. Moreover, John Requa (Crazy, Stupid, Love) and Glenn Ficarra (Focus) will direct the series. Charlie Gogolak (This Is Us) is on-board to produce alongside Leto’s Paradox production banner. Apple Studios will handle financing and distribution via the Apple TV+ streaming service.

Following an Oscar victory for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Dallas Buyers Club, Jared Leto turned heads as The Joker in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad. Up next, Leto reprises the role in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. The Thirty Seconds To Mars frontman will also star in Sony’s next big Marvel film Morbius. Additionally, the method actor has roles in Disney’s Tron reboot and Ridley Scott’s highly anticipated crime drama Gucci as well. Meanwhile, Anne Hathaway recently starred opposite Chiwetel Ejiofor in HBO Max’s LockedDown. Additionally, The Dark Knight Rises actress will appear in the upcoming Sesame Street film alongside Chance The Rapper.
