UPDATE: ‘Morbius’ Set Photos Further Tease Spider-Man’s Fate

UPDATE: Another batch of set photos caught Morbius stars Matt Smith and Jared Leto filming scenes in Los Angeles, California as Michael Morbius and Loxias Crown near the Spider-Man image featured below.
It was recently reported that Sony’s Venom 2 has wrapped filming for the time being. But it looks like some shoots may still be taking place based on a new set photo. Recently an image surfaced featuring a sign that seems to tease Spider-Man’s current status.
The image features a bus with an ad for the Daily Bugle on the side that reads, “Where is Spider-Man?”. It seems that since Mysterio revealed to the world that Peter Parker is the web-slinger, the hero has gone into hiding. Many fans wondered what the aftermath of that reveal would mean for Spidey, and it looks like that has now been revealed.

Based on what we know about the Sony Universe of Marvel Characters, the MCU and its films can affect the Sony films while the latter has no bearing on the former. This photo seems to confirm that as it seems, Spider-Man’s status in the public eye will be addressed or at least teased in the film. Some rumors have suggested Tom Holland may cameo in Venom 2, but it seems if this sign is any bearing, the character is currently in hiding.

What this means for Spider-Man is that if he is currently missing in the SUMC, that may be the same in the MCU. Rather than deal with the public backlash after being accused of murder by Mysterio, Spidey has gone underground. This would help avoid any further issues until they can be resolved in Spider-Man 3.
What do you think of this new Venom 2 set photo? Are you excited for the next entry in the SUMC? Let us know in the comments below!
Venom 2 hits theaters on October 2, 2020.
The film stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom, Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady/Carnage, Naomie Harris as Frances Louise Barrison/Shriek with Stephen Graham in a mystery role.
