An update regarding the rumored Tom Holland cameo in Venom 2 may add some fuel to the fire that Spider-Man will encounter Eddie Brock in the film. Recently, the Editor-in-Chief of DiscussingFilm reached out to Sony for comment about the story, and their response may come as a surprise.
“Just a tiny update regarding the Tom Holland/Spider – Venom 2 news,” the insider started. “Before the holidays, asked Sony reps on if they had a comment on the story, just got a response today which was they have no comment for now. Make of this as you will but in my experience, it typically means the story as it stands is likely true.”
While this statement is in no way confirmation of Holland’s involvement with the film, it’s notable that Sony didn’t outright deny the story. After Sony and Marvel reconciled following their public spat over the Spider-Man rights, reports claimed that Holland appearing in the SUMC could have been part of the negotiations. If that’s the case, Peter Parker could be returning to the big screen sooner than expected.
