Rosario Dawson & Randall Park Join The Cast of Dwayne Johnson’s NBC Series ‘Young Rock’

With just a few weeks before its premiere, a new twist comes to the light in regards to NBC’s upcoming comedy Young Rock. While it has been previously reported that the series will follow the life and upbringing of Dwayne Johnson, it appears the series dives into the potential future as well. And, as first reported by Entertainment Weekly, Rosario Dawson and Randall Park are joining the series to help explore this new chapter.
Per the initial report, the series will spotlight The Rock’s life, specifically the performer at the ages of 10, 15, and 20. However, while a trio of young actors will tell Johnson’s life-story, Johnson himself will narrate the show. However, this narration takes place from the year 2023, when The Rock is prepping for a U.S. Presidential candidacy. He will be aided by Dawson and Park, who will join the show in supporting roles.
Randall Park will portray a fictionalized version of himself. Within the story, the actor transitions to journalism and is given all-access coverage to Johnson’s presidential campaign. However, Rosario Dawson will play a character named General Monica Jackson, an aide with the political clout to assist Jonshon’s bid for the White House.

The series received an immediate 11-episode order and will debut on Feb. 16 on NBC. Moreover, the series hails from Fresh Off the Boat showrunner Nahnatchka Khan and Jeff Chiang (American Dad) the series Johnson will also serve as an executive producer alongside his Seven Bucks Productions’ collaborators Dany and Hiram Garcia.
Recently, Rosario Dawson dropped jaws with her turn as Ahsoka Tano in Disney+’s The Mandalorian. The access will reprise her role in an upcoming Disney+ series based on the character. Additionally, Dawson currently co-hosts TNT’s The Go Big Show and will appear alongside Michael Keaton in the Hulu miniseries Dopesick. Meanwhile, Randall Park is no stranger to Disney+ himself. The actor will have a role to play in the ongoing season of Marvel’s WandaVision. Moreover, he will team up with Ken Jeong for a live-action adaptation of the novel Flamingo Theif.
