Randall Park & Ken Jeong To Star In John Lee’s ‘The Flamingo Thief’

Fresh off recent appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, two highly sought off actors will next team up for an upcoming film produced by Erica Steinberg (Death Proof). As first reported by Discussing Film, Randall Park and Ken Jeong will team up to star in a live-action adaptation of the novel Flamingo Theif.
Based on the novel of the same by Susan Trott, Flamingo Theif follows multimillionaire Tim Forester. Following the tragic death of his son, Forester begins committing acts of small, petty theft of different variations of flamingoes. While is highly-successful business and marriage continue to fail, Forester begins to feel better with the unhealthy, and illegal, coping mechanism.
Per the initial report, Park will embody the role of Tim Forester. However, the last name might be switched to Han. Moreover, Jeong will play Tim’s brother named George. This will be the second time the two actors play siblings after last appearing alongside each other in ABC’s acclaimed series Fresh Off The Boat.

The film will reportedly be directed by John Lee. The filmmaker last sat in the director’s chair for the 2016 Pee-wee Herman film Pee-wee’s Big Holiday in addition to a few episodes of Comedy Central’s Broad City. Additionally, Lee will helm False Positive for A24, starring Peirce Brosnan and Sophia Bush. Furthermore, the film will feature a screenplay penned by You, Me, & Dupree scribe Michael LeSieur. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, production will likely be stalled until early 2021.
Up next for Randall Park is a reprise of his role as Agent Woo in the upcoming Disney+ series WandaVision. On the other hand, Jeong currently appears as a panelist on the singing competition show The Masked Singer.
