Rachel McAdams Officially Set To Return For ‘Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness’

After previous reports cast doubt on whether or not she would reprise her role as Christine Palmer in Doctor Strange 2, it appears the opposite is true. According to Deadline, Rachel McAdams is officially on-board to appear in Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness. 

The film is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious big-screen adventures in the Marvel canon. Set to take the Sorcerer Supreme on an otherworldly journey, the film will reportedly feature a number of new and returning faces. With Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch joining the fray, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Strange will also have to tackle being a mentor to another magic-user. In addition to Wanda, the film is also rumored to feature characters such as Brother Voodoo and Clea. Additionally, Baby-Sitters Club actress Xochitl Gomez will join the film, presumably as the debuting America Chavez.

Michael Waldron, the man behind the upcoming Loki Disney+ series, is set to rework the current script. Previously, Miller’s Girl scribe Jade Bartlett signed on to pen the screenplay. Moreover, Spider-Man director Sam Raimi will direct the film following the departure of the first film’s helmer Scott Derrickson. Coincidentally, Cumberbatch will appear as Doctor Strange in the upcoming Spider-Man 3, rumored to feature the star of Raimi’s Spider-Man series Tobey Maguire. McAdams will join Benedict Wong and Chiwetel Ejiofor who will return as Wong and Mordo, respectively.

This year, Rachel McAdams starred alongside Will Ferrell in the universally beloved Netlfix film Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga. Additionally, rumors claim the True Detective star will appear in the long-awaited third Sherlock Holmes film, starring Robert Downey Jr.
