Saoirse Ronan, David Oyelowo, & Sam Rockwell To Star In Searchlight’s Untitled Murder Mystery

Disney’s Searchlight Pictures has consistently produced a bevy of well-recieved films with a lot of awards buzz. Recently, the studio’s films like Jojo Rabbit, Ready Or Not, and The Personal History of David Copperfield have wowed moviegoers of all types. Up next, the studio will produce a murder mystery with an extremely impressive lineup joining the cast.
As first reported by Deadline, Saoirse Ronan, David Oyelowo, and Sam Rockwell will star in the currently untitled film. Moreover, Searchlight has tapped Defending the Guilty director Tom George to helm the feature with a screenplay by Mark Chappell (Flaked). Per the initial report, the picture will take place in 1950s London. As a Hollywood film producer attempts to transform a popular West End play into a film, members of the production are murdered. Inspector Stoppard (Rockwell) teams with an impertinent rookie Constable Stalker (Ronan) to solve the mystery.

Additionally, Katie Goodson-Thomas (The Debt Collector), Damian Jones (The Iron Lady), Richard Ruiz (The Favourite) are on-board to produce the feature. At the time of this writing, there is no production start date on the books.
Saoirse Ronan is by far one of the most dependable performers in modern Hollywood. The actress touts numerous Oscar nominations thanks for head-turning roles in films like Lady Bird, Atonement, and Little Women. Up next, Ronan will star alongside Timothée Chalamet in Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch. Meanwhile, David Oyelowo continues to bolster his award-winning résumé as well. Best known for starring in Selma, Lincoln, and Jack Reacher, Oyelowo will next appear with Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley in Chaos Walking. Finally, Sam Rockwell recently earned Emmy nods for his role in FX’s Fosse/Verdon. The actor’s recent credits include voice roles in Trolls World Tour and The One and Only Ivan and he will next portray Merle Haggard in the singer’s biopic.
