Craig Robinson, Andy Samberg & Common To Star In Stoner Superhero Comedy ‘Super High’

New Line Cinema has built quite an impressive resume for itself since its inception. Touting popular franchises like The Lord of the Rings and Austin Powers, the studio continues to look towards the future. As first reported by Deadline, New Line has now reportedly won a hotly-contested battle for the rights to a new superhero comedy with some big names attached in starring roles.
Per the initial report, the film will feature The Office star Craig Robinson, Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Andy Samberg, and Oscar Award-winner Common. While details on their characters remain scarce at this time, the comedy’s plot will feature “special” weed that, when smoked, provides the user with superpowers.

The concept hails from Independent Spirit Award nominee Adam Mansbach (Barry). The accomplished author will also write the screenplay. Mansbach will also serve as the film’s producer alongside Shamier Anderson (Wynonna Earp) and Richard Brener (The Butterfly Effect).
Following a myriad of memorable roles in comedies across the board, Craig Robinson remains one of Hollywood’s most recognizable faces. Following a turn in the Golden Globe-nominated Dolemite Is My Name, Robinson will next star in Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon with Kate Hudson. The actor will also appear in Michael Bay‘s Songbird. Meanwhile, Andy Samberg is a Golden Globe Award-winner in his own right for Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Most recently, The Lonely Island rapper earned critical adoration for his role in Hulu’s Palm Springs. Moreover, Common has successfully transitioned from gifted lyricist to accomplished actor in the last two decades. With roles in Suicide Squad and Now You See Me under his belt, the versatile performer will next star in Charlie Day’s El Tonto.
