Pete Davidson & Colin Jost To Star In Wedding Comedy ‘Worst Man’

Fresh off the release of his critically acclaimed new film The King of Staten Island, Pete Davidson lines up his next endeavor. As first reported by Variety, the comedian is set to appear alongside his Saturday Night Live co-star Colin Jost in a new wedding comedy from Universal Pictures titled Worst Man.
The movie is based on a pitch by Colin Jost, Matthew Bass (Superbad), and Theodore Bressman (The Green Hornet). The plot follows a young couple as they prepare for their wedding. As expected, comedy ensues as the family dynamics come into play. At this time, Universal continues to search for a director. However, Saturday Night Live‘s Lorne Michaels is attached as executive producer.

The two young stars seem to be mapping out a future outside of the weekly variety sketch show. In addition to his latest release, Davidson will also appear in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. Moreover, the actor will voice the titular character in the latest Marmaduke adaptation. The King of Staten Island received favorable reviews with Full Circle’s very own Derek Flores calling it “a funny, dramatic, and heartwarming movie that arguably shows Apatow and Davidson at their finest.”
Colin Jost currently works as one of SNL‘s head writers and hosts its Weekend Update segment with Michael Che. The comedian also appeared on WWE programming in 2019 and will star in the live-action and animated film Tom & Jerry. Additionally, Jost is engaged to Black Widow star Scarlet Johannson.
Per the initial report, the film is in the early stages of development with no production date currently set.
