‘Thor’ Star Stellan Skarsgard Joins The Cast Of Cassian Andor Disney+ Series

Over the last few months, Star Wars fans were sent on a whirlwind of emotions. From the less-than-stellar reactions to The Rise of Skywalker to the triumphant Mandalorian series, what the franchise’s future hold remains unknown. However, that future is still securely intact with a bevy of Disney+ projects in development. As first reported by Variety, the upcoming Star Wars series focused on Cassian Andor has enlisted the talents of Stellen Skarsgard.
Best known for playing Dr. Erik Selvig in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Skarsgard is quite the accomplished performer. He has appeared in films like Mamma Mia!, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the HBO series Chernobyl over his 50+ year acting career.
While his role is yet to be confirmed, the Swedish actor will certainly bolster the show’s cast and provide it with the depth found in its Disney+ predecessor The Mandalorian. Additionally, Kyle Soller will also appear in the upcoming series. Soller can previously be seen in films and on TV in projects like Fury and Poldrak.

The Diego Luna-led series will serve as a prequel to Rogue One. It will feature Luna reprising his role as Cassian Andor with Alan Tudyk returning as his droid K-2SO. Rogue One debuted as the first Star Wars film to deviate from the franchise’s normal episodic nature. It featured a bevy of new characters and shed light on the rise of Darth Vader post-Revenge of the Sith. However, the film’s events ended with tragedy as the Empire crushed the opposition after they successfully completed their mission.
