Disney+ launched alongside the premiere of the very first live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian. Amidst the discourse among the Star Wars fanbase following the release of The Rise of Skywalker, the Jon Favreau-ran series brought fans together with its unique take on the established lore. However, the series also brought with it a bevy of big-name guest stars. As first reported by The Hashtag Show, one of those stars, Ming-Na Wen, is set to reprise her role in The Mandalorian‘s second season.
However, this may come as a surprise to fans of the first season. The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star appeared as Fennec Shand in just one episode. During the events of the episode, the character perished during a stand-off. Although, one final scene featuring Wen saw a mysterious character kneeling near Fennec Shand’s body. Many Disney+ fans are aware that this tease was never fully realized.

Along with the news of Wen’s return, the initial report points to the return of Sandtroopers as well. Last seen on the planet of Tatooine, this return may be linked to the resurrection of Fennec Shand, as she was last seen on Luke Skywalker’s home planet.
The second season is shaping up to be rather ambitious. For example, series star Giancarlo Esposito recently teased some major Lightsaber action in season two. Moreover, Daredevil star Rosario Dawson will appear as the fan-favorite character from the Star Wars animated series The Clone Wars and Rebels Ahsoka Tano. Additionally, WWE Superstar Sasha Banks and the legendary Jamie Lee Curtis will reportedly appear in the upcoming season as well.
