‘Falcon & The Winter Soldier’ Set Footage Potentially Teases The Grapplers

Amongst the new footage from the set, the most intriguing includes a group of women in direct combat with Wyatt Russell’s John Walker. Previously, set footage displayed Walker fighting Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes. However, this new footages teases the debut of a new group in the MCU. Take a look at the video below.
Admittedly, the video is certainly open to interpretation. However, given the number of individuals in the gang and their ability to put up a good fight with the U.S. Agent, reliable insider Charles Murphy speculates the group just may be The Grapplers.

First debuting within the pages of Marvel Comics in 1970, The Grapplers loosely organized group of female wrestlers, most of whom gained superhuman strength through the group known as Power Broker, Inc. Many comic book fans will note Power Broker, Inc is the same organization responsible for the U.S. Agent’s powers as well. The Grapplers original lineup included characters like The original line up consisted of criminals Titania, Letha, Poundcakes, and Screaming Mimi. While the gang start out as criminals, Screaming Mimi and Titania go on to become superheroes known as Songbird and Lascivious, respectively. Additionally, Songbird eventually joins the Thunderbolts later in her carer.
The series will see the return of Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan in their respective MCU roles. It will expand upon the final few moments of Avengers: Endgame where Steve Rogers hands his shield off to The Falcon, dubbing him the new Captain America. Additionally, the series will also bring about the debut of classic Captain America side-characters Battlestar and U.S. Agent. Moreover, set photos from the production paint a picture of what fans can expect from the series.
