‘The Falcon And The Winter Soldier’ Will Reportedly Set Up The Thunderbolts

It seems Marvel Studios has big plans for its upcoming The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. According to insider Daniel Richtman, the Disney+ is going to set up the MCU’s version of the Thunderbolts.
Rumors have circulated for some time now that the Thunderbolts were in development at Marvel, and it appears that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier may be their catalyst. Baron Zemo has been a member of many different versions of the team, so this could explain why Kevin Feige and Co. have chosen to bring him back for the series. This could mean we will see other antagonists from previous Marvel films appear on the show who will join the team of rogues.
The Thunderbolt lineup has seen many incarnations in the comics, so it’s hard to say for who could potentially appear on the live-action team. It’s possible the live-action roster could feature some past faces from the MCU, including villains like Ghost, Justin Hammer and Abomination.

As of now, it’s unclear how the show will set up the Thunderbolts or what role the team will play in the MCU’s future. Perhaps Baron Zemo will form the group of villains, or Secretary “Thunderbolt” Ross could bring them together as a foil to the Avengers. Given the loss of many key heroes in Avengers: Endgame, there is a bit of a power vacuum in the MCU that could be filled by this new team.
