Elizabeth Banks, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, & Nathan Fillion To Star In ‘Skincare’

One of the most versatile names in Hollywood today, Elizabeth Banks is looking to step back in front of the camera after directing the 2023 hit Cocaine Bear. As first reported by Deadline, Banks will reunite with her Slither co-star Nathan Fillion and Emmy winner Michaela Jaé Rodriguez for a new thriller titled Skincare.

More Than an Athlete director Austin Peters will be at the film’s helm with Hunters star Logan Lerman and Jonathan Schwartz (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3) on board to executive produce. Lewis Pullman (Top Gun: Maverick) and Luis Gerardo Méndez (The Resort) will star alongside Banks, Rodriguez, and Fillion in the film.

Per the initial report, Skincare will be a vanity thriller set in Hollywood. However, little else is known about the film’s plot. Notably, the aforementioned Austin Peters wrote the script along with Deering Regan (Frances Ha) and Sam Freilich. In a joint-statement, producers Logan Lerman and Jonathan Schwartz express their excitement for the world to see the film.

Banks is a three-time Emmy nominee for her recurring roles in 30 Rock and Modern Family. In addition to directing films like Pitch Perfect 2 and Cocaine Bear, Banks will next star opposite Zach Galifianakis and Sarah Snook in The Beanie Bubble. Michaela Jaé Rodriguez is the first transgender woman to earn an Emmy Award nomination in a major acting category for her work in FX’s Pose. Most recently, the multihyphenate voiced a Terrorcon named Nightbird in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Nathan Fillion recently appeared in his friend James Gunn’s latest MCU film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as well as Gunn’s first DC project The Suicide Squad.
