Jesse Plemons & Lizzy Caplan Join Robert De Niro In Netflix’s ‘Zero Day’

Robert De Niro is one of the greatest movie stars in cinematic history. However, the actor’s tenured career has featured very few roles on television. Up next, De Niro will take his talents to Netflix for a new series in the works. As first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, De Niro will be joined by a slew of stars including Lizzy Caplan and Jesse Plemons.
Joan Allen and Connie Britton will also star in the series, titled Zero Day. Eric Newman (Narcos) created the series alongside Noah Oppenheim (Jackie) and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Michael S. Schmidt. Robert De Niro will serve as the show’s executive producer alongside Lesli Linka Glatter (Mad Men), who will direct all six episodes of the series.

Zero Day follows a former U.S. President, George Mullen (De Niro) as he is pulled back into the limelight to investigate a massive global cyber-attack. Plemons will portray Mullen’s former bodyguard who accompanies his return while Caplan plays Mullen’s daughter Alexandra, a congresswoman looking to carve out a legacy separate from her father’s.
Jesse Plemons is quickly becoming one of the most dependable actors in Hollywood. Following crucial roles in recent films like Jungle Cruise and Judas and the Black Messiah, Plemons will join De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon. Meanwhile, Lizzy Caplan recently starred alongside Jesse Eisenberg in FX’s hit series Fleishman Is in Trouble. Up next, Caplan will star alongside C’mon C’mon star Woody Norman and The Boys‘ Anthony Starr in the horror film Cobweb.
