Anthony Ramos Joins Daisy Edgar-Jones & Glen Powell In ‘Twister’ Sequel

Three years ago, it was revealed that Universal Pictures gave the green light for a sequel to the 1996 hit film Twister. However, it wasn’t until recently when news broke that Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glen Powell has joined the cast. Now, as first reported by Deadline, the movie continues to pick up steam as In The Heights star Anthony Ramos is the latest star to join the cast.
The sequel, appropriately titled Twisters, will be helmed by Minari director Lee Isaac Chung. Mark L. Smith (The Revenant) wrote the screenplay for the sequel that will notably be a joint venture between Universal Pictures, Warner Bros Discovery, and Stephen Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment.

Releasing in 1996, Twister is a disaster film starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton. Directed by Jan de Bont that follows a group of amateur but spirited storm chasers trying to deploy a tornado research device during a severe outbreak in Oklahoma. The film earned $494 million at the worldwide box office and earned two Academy Award nominations for sound and visual effects.
After a breakout role in Broadway’s Hamilton, Anthony Ramos is beginning to collect his fair share of starring roles in big franchises. After a starring role in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In The Heights, Ramos will next star in the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts as well as Marvel’s upcoming Ironheart series on Disney+. Additionally, the multihyphenate will star alongside Paul Dano, Sebastian Stan, and Seth Rogen in Dumb Money.
