Anthony Ramos, Vincent D’Onofrio, & Dane DeHaan Join The Cast Of Sony’s Gamestop Movie ‘Dumb Money’

When a group of private investors and internet trolls took down one of the most significant hedge funds on Wall Street by making the stock price of Gamestop rise, the world stood up and paid attention. Now, the story lives on within the pages of Ben Mezrich’s 2021 book The Antisocial Network. With this just happening recently, Hollywood is already staking their claim in retelling it. Previously, it was revealed that Paul Dano, Seth Rogen, Sebastian Stan, and Pete Davidson would star in the film. As first reported by Deadline, the already stacked cast is becoming even more with the addition of Anthony Ramos, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Dane DeHaan.
Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya) is directing the film, titled Dumb Money, with an adapted screenplay by Rebecca Angelo (Orange Is the New Black) & Blumhouse Productions co-founder Lauren Schuker Blum. Black Bear Pictures will produce the feature after acquiring the rights to Mezrich’s book from MGM earlier this year.

Check out the synopsis of Ben Mezrich’s The Antisocial Network to see what to expect from the upcoming adaptation.
It started on a subreddit forum called WallStreetBets – a meme-filled, freewheeling place where a disparate group of investors shared their shoot-the-moon investment tips, laughed about big losses, and posted diamond hand emojis. Until some members noticed an opportunity in Gamestop – a flailing bricks and mortar video-game retailer – and somehow rode a rocket ship to tens of millions of dollars in earnings overnight, simultaneously triggering unfathomable losses for one of the most respected funds on the street.
Anthony Ramos is perhaps best known for his roles in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musicals Hamilton and In The Heights. However, thanks to those roles, the actor’s career is getting ready to take off. Up next, Ramos will star in the Marvel Disney+ series Ironheart as well as lead the cast of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Meanwhile, Vincent D’Onofrio is also set to return to the world of Marvel by reprising his role as Wilson Fisk in two Marvel shows, Echo and Daredevil: Born Again. Up next for Dane DeHaan is a role in Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated Oppenheimer.
