Tessa Thompson & Joseph Gordon-Levitt To Star In Flying Lotus’ Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Ash’

With the Toronto International Film Festival getting underway next week, details surrounding one of the hottest packages going on sale at the event have emerged. As first reported by Deadline, Tessa Thompson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have been tapped to star in a sci-fi thriller in the works titled Ash.
Grammy Award-winning musician and filmmaker Flying Lotus, real name Steven Ellison, will direct the project in his sophomore outing. Additionally, the script hails from Jonni Remmler (Fabrixx) with Neill Blomkamp (District 9) on board as the film’s executive producer. XYZ Films will represent the project at TIFF. In addition to his directorial duties, Flying Lotus will also compose the film’s original score.

Ash will follow a woman (Thompson) as she wakes up aboard her space station on a mysterious planet to the sight of her crew viciously murdered. When she meets the man sent to rescue her (Gordon-Levitt), she must decide whether to trust him or not as they investigate what really happened and who is at fault.
Tessa Thompson is a Primetime Emmy Award nominee with one of the most impressive résumés in Hollywood today. After reprising her role as Valkyrie in Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder, Thompson will next star in Steve Buscemi’s The Listener. Additionally, the actress will return to the Rocky franchise alongside Michael B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors in Creed 3. Meanwhile, Joseph Gordon-Levitt can next be heard as the voice of Jiminy Cricket in the Disney+ film Pinocchio. Moreover, the actor will lead the all-star cast of the comedy Providence.
