Viola Davis To Return As Amanda Waller in DC’s ‘Black Adam’

One of the most iconic actors of all time is returning to a role she has made almost as iconic. As first revealed during the DCEU panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, Viola Davis will appear as Amanda Waller in DC’s Black Adam.
It is not yet known what role Waller will have to play in the film. However, it is notable that her character will help welcome The Rock’s Black Adam into the larger DCEU shared universe. The reveal comes just a few months after it was reported that the Academy Award winner would star as Waller in her own HBO Max series. Davis will star in the series as Waller as well as serve as an executive producer. Watchmen scribe Christal Henry is penning the series in addition to taking on a producer role as well. Peacemaker executive producer Peter Safran and The Suicide Squad director James Gunn are also on board to executive produce.

Moreover, Davis is the only African-American to achieve the Triple Crown of Acting having earned an Oscar, an Emmy, and two Tony Awards. Up next, Davis will star alongside Lashana Lynch and John Boyega in Gina Prince-Bythewood’s The Woman King.
