Amanda Seyfried Joins Tom Holland In Apple’s Anthology Series ‘The Crowded Room’

The slate of current and upcoming Apple TV+ content is staggering. Thanks to hits like Ted Lasso and The Afterparty, the streaming service is showing zero signs of slowing down. Up next, Apple looks to expand its catalog with a new anthology series titled The Crowded Room. As first reported by Deadline, Les Misérables star Amanda Seyfried is joining the previously cast Tom Holland in the series.
The project hails from A Beautiful Mind’s Akiva Goldsman, who is on board to write and executive produce. Additionally, New Regency, the studio behind hit films like Birdman and 12 Years A Slave, will produce the series as well. The project will stream on Apple TV+ via Apple Studios.

The series will reportedly follow inspirational stories of people who struggle with and live successfully live with mental illness. Season one of The Crowded Room is based on author Daniel Keyes’ non-fiction novel The Minds of Billy Milligan. Milligan is the first person in U.S. history acquitted of a major crime by pleading multiple-personality disorder. In the series, Holland will portray Milligan and explore the reality of living with the disorder. Meanwhile, Seyfried will play Rya, a clinical psychologist facing the most challenging case of her young career.
Best known for her roles in hit films like Mamma Mia! and Mean Girls. Recently, the actress earned an Academy Award nomination for her role alongside Gary Oldman in Mank. Additionally, the multihyphenate will portray controversial Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes in the upcoming Hulu series The Dropout.
