The Goddess Bast Will Reportedly Appear In ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’
Marvel Studios may be tapping into yet another mythos for Thor: Love and Thunder. A new listing for the film has suggested that the goddess Bast will appear.
As first noticed by Cosmic Circus, actress Akosia Sabet has been listed as the character on the Australian casting directory Showcast. While this is not an official confirmation of the role, it does hold some weight as to the actress appearing in the film as Bast.

Bast first appeared in Black Panther as the panther goddess in Wakandan mythos. She led the warrior shaman Bashenga to the heart-shaped herb, where he became the first Black Panther and uniter of the five tribes of Wakanda.
Bast is a goddess of ancient Egyptian mythology, which would make this the second pantheon to appear in Thor: Love and Thunder. In April, actor Russell Crowe revealed that he had signed onto star as the god Zeus in the film. Given Gorr the God Butcher will serve as the villain for the film, this suggests we will see him work his way through various mythologies in the Marvel Universe.
The fourth film in the Thor franchise sees the return of Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. Additionally, Taika Waititi confirmed the actress will also take on Thor’s mantle within the events of the film at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Chris Hemsworth will also return as the Son of Odin. Additionally, Ford v. Ferrari star Christian Bale will play Gorr the God Butcher in the film. Moreover, the film will feature the Guardians of the Galaxy, Korg, and Jaimie Alexander’s Lady Sif.
