Martin McDonagh is an Oscar Award-winning screenwriter and director with hit films like Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri under his belt. Up next, the filmmaker is working on a relatively secret project gearing up for sales at the upcoming American Film Market. And, as first reported by Deadline, McDonagh is recruiting an all-star cast featuring Christopher Walken, Oscar Isaac, and Sam Rockwell.
Martin McDonagh will direct the feature with a self-written screenplay. Plot details are scarce at this time. However, sources close to the story are calling the story impressive, based on McDonagh’s track record alone. CAA and Range Media Partners will rep sales for the project at this season’s AFM.
An Oscar winner in his own right, Christopher Walken is one of the most legendary performers in Hollywood. Walken earned the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in The Deer Hunter back in 1978. Over the years, Walken touts memorable performances in films like Catch Me If You Can, Hairspray, and Batman Returns. Up next, Walken will appear alongside Alana Haim in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Licorice Pizza.
The upcoming McDonagh flick will reunite the director with Sam Rockwell, who earned the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor because of Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Up next, the actor will star as country singer Merle Haggard in an upcoming biopic as well as appear alongside Samuel L. Jackson In Matthew Vaughn’s next film. Meanwhile, Oscar Issac recently impresses alongside Timothée Chalamet in Dune. Next, Isaac will star as the titular hero in Marvel’s Moon Knight series on Disney+.
