Kenya Barris-Jonah Hill Netflix Comedy Adds Travis Bennett, Rhea Perlman, & Deon Cole

In August, Netflix announced a comedy that was being helmed by Kenya Barris. The comedy will star Eddie Murphy and Jonah Hill. That film has since added Travis Bennett, Andrea Savage, Rhea Perlman, Deon Cole according to Deadline. They join Lauren London, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Sam Jay, Molly Gordon, David Duchovny, and Nia Long who have also already been cast.
The plot will examine love in this modern era and differing family dynamics. It will also cover culture clashing, expectations for men, women, and races in society. It will center around a married interracial couple (Hill and London), and their respective families.
Bennett, who stars in Dave, will be starring in his first film. He was also a part of Loiter Squad, a television sketch show that starred Bennet, and other members of Odd Future. Hill will be starring in the Netflix film Don’t Look Up releasing in December.

Barris, who was said to have left Netflix back in June, will be producing under Khalabo Ink Society. Hill will produce through his Strong Baby banner, and Kevin Misher will join and produce through his Misher Films banner. Mychelle Deschamps and Hale Rothstein will executive produce through Khalabo Ink Society. Matt Dines and Ali Goodwin will through Strong Baby, Andy Berman for Misher Films, and David Hyman and Cherissa Hewitt Webste.
An all-star cast with an all-star producing team. It seems like the Ashton Kutcher-Bernie Mac film Guess Who on steroids. It’s got a ton of comedians and has a genuinely good writer, producer, director at the forefront. Barris has established his Ish shows on ABC and much like Shonda Rhimes has been putting out hits for Netflix recently.
