A post on social media by a crew member might have revealed a surprise appearance in the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever film.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s make-up artist Karen Kawahara posted a photo of Dreyfus on a large set. In a reply to a comment, Kawahara confirmed it was a Marvel production. Although she doesn’t reveal exactly which Marvel Studios project it is, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the most likely candidate due to the fact it’s currently filming in Atlanta, the location of the photos she posted on her Instagram.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus first played “Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine” in both The Falcon and the Winter Soldier before briefly appearing in Black Widow as well. She’s expected to appear in a number of other upcoming MCU projects, including Hawkeye on Disney+.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus's make-up artist posted this to her Instagram account a few days ago & it looks like Val might be showing up in a Marvel production. I'm leaning more towards #BlackPantherWakandaForever as that is in production right now in Atlanta and makes more sense. pic.twitter.com/MnHtr76xJV

In her previous MCU entries, it’s clear Contessa is recruiting for her own “Avengers” team. It consists of John Walker a.k.a U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell) and Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh). We know from Kevin Feige that Riri Williams will appear in the film and has been on set in recent weeks. Could she be recruiting her own “Iron Man?” Or hoping to recruit a Wakandan Warrior?
The film features returning stars Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, and Angela Bassett. Additionally, Narcos: Mexico star Tenoch Huerta has joined the movie and is rumored to be portraying Namor.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will release on May 6, 2022.
