Leslie Odom Jr. Joins The Cast Of Rian Johnson’s ‘Knives Out 2’

Fresh off one of the best and busiest years of his career, the multihyphenate Leslie Odom Jr. continues to add to his already stellar résumé. As first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the actor is the latest big name to join the ensemble cast of Rian Johnson’s highly anticipated Netflix feature, Knives Out 2.
Leslie Odom Jr. joins his Central Park co-star Kathryn Hahn in the cast. Additionally, the duo joins other recent additions to the ensemble Janelle Monáe, Dave Bautista, and Edward Norton. Daniel Craig is onboard to reprise his role as super sleuth Benoit Blanc. Rian Johnson is writing and will direct the feature with longtime collaborator Ram Bergman returning as executive producer.

Knives Out is a 2019 mystery film featuring a bevy of twists and turns. Notably, the film features an all-star ensemble including the aforementioned Craig, Chris Evans, Michael Shannon, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Lakeith Stanfield. The film’s plot follows a master detective investigating the death of the patriarch of a wealthy, dysfunctional family. The feature grossed $311.4 million worldwide while also receiving a Best Original Screenplay nomination at the 92nd Academy Awards.
Leslie Odom Jr. rose to fame thanks to his starring role in the original cast of Broadway’s Hamilton. Originating the role of Aaron Burr, the actor earned the Tony Award for Best Actor in 2016. Since the production joined the catalog of Disney+ exclusives, Odom’s stock has only continued to rise. Within the last year, he starred in Apple TV’s animated musical series Central Park and Sia’s Music. Recently, he earned an Oscar nomination for his role in Regina King’s One Night In Miami. Up next, he will star in the Sopranos prequel film The Many Saints of Newark.
