Following a successful comedic run on TV with Key & Peele and in movies like Keanu, Jordan Peele stepped behind the camera to write and direct films within the horror genre. Winning the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Get Out, the filmmaker is currently developing a new secret project. Now, as first reported by Deadline and The Illuminerdi, Peele is enlisting his Get Out collaborator Daniel Kaluuya as well as Keke Palmer to lead the cast.
However, little else is known about the upcoming film. Peele is reportedly keeping the script under wraps. The film will be produced by Universal Pictures and holds a release date of July 22, 2022. In addition to writing and directing the feature, Peele will produce as well via his Monkeypaw Productions. Additionally, Ian Cooper (Candyman) is on-board as executive producer as well.
Kaluuya continues to carve out an amazing legacy for himself. After turning heads in 2019’s Queen & Slim, the British performer recently starred in HBO Max’s Judas and the Black Messiah. Moreover, his roles in films like Black Panther and Get Out have earned him a bevy of major award nominations. Up next, the actor will star in and produce a live-action adaptation of the author Femi Fadugba’s debut novel The Upper World.
Meanwhile, Keke Palmer recently wrapped filming Steel Springs Pictures’ Alice opposite Common. The actress last appeared alongside Jennifer Lopez in the hit 2019 film Hustlers. Up next, she will star in Disney+’s revival of The Proud Family.
