RUMOR: Doctor Doom Will Be The Villain Of ‘Black Panther II’

In the wake of the Fox acquisition, fans have long wondered when they would see some of the Marvel characters acquired by Disney appear in the MCU. Well, according to Charles Murphy, it could be sooner rather than later as he’s heard that Doctor Doom may be the villain of Black Panther II.
Murphy’s rumor claims Victor Von Doom will begin expanding his empire into Africa, coming into conflict with the nation of Wakanda and thus T’Challa. Fans of the comics will notice similarities with the 2010 event Doomwar, which saw Doom invade Wakanda in pursuit of its most valuable resource, Vibranium.
The insider also revealed that the information comes courtesy of sources who have been reliable in the past. Additionally, Murphy’s track record adds to the credibility of this scoop. However, until anyone at Marvel or Disney comments on the validity of the rumor, make sure to take it with a grain of salt.

It is no secret Marvel Studios has plans for Doctor Doom in the MCU. Kevin Feige has met with Noah Hawley in the past to discuss his script for a solo film focusing on the iconic villain. Perhaps elements of Hawley’s script can be integrated into the highly anticipated Black Panther sequel.
For quite some time, Namor has been rumored to be the antagonist of Black Panther II. Atlantis has been teased in previous Marvel films dating back to Iron Man 2, and based on the character’s history with T’Challa, it seemed he would undoubtedly appear in the MCU. But if this new rumor is true, it may be sometime before we see Namor in Wakanda as there may not be enough time to fully develop both the rulers of Atlantis and Latveria in one film.
