‘Ramy’ Star May Calamawy Joins Oscar Isaac In ‘Moon Knight’ Disney+ Series

With mere days until Marvel Studios’ first live-action series original to Disney+, Wandavision, debuts, production is already well underway for other upcoming shows like Ms. Marvel and Hawkeye. With other Marvel heroes like She-Hulk and Ironheart getting their own series as well, one project fans are clamoring for more information about is Moon Knight. With Star Wars actor Oscar Isaac set to portray the titular character, THR reports that Ramy star May Calamawy is joining the highly anticipated series as well.
According to the initial report, it is unclear who Calamawy will play in the series. Furthermore, Disney representatives have declined to comment. However, one female character frequently appears with Moon Knight, real name Marc Spector, in the pages of Marvel comics is Marlene Alraune. Often appearing as a love interest of Spector, Arlaune is an archeologist who helps him develop Moon Knight’s identity. However, another option could be Scarlet Fasinera aka Stained Glass Scarlet, as many fans on social media have guessed.

Best known for her role in Hulu’s Ramy, May Calamawy was born in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Additionally, her ever-growing résumé includes starring opposite Ed Helms in the upcoming indie comedy Together Together. The actress also appears in the National Geographic mini-series The Long Road Home.
Jeremy Slater, known for his work on Netflix’s Umbrella Academy adaptation, is set to develop and write the Marvel Studios series. Moreover, Mohamed Diab (Clash), Justin Benson, and Aaron Moorhead (The Endless) will direct various episodes of Moon Knight as well.
