Boba Fett Miniseries Rumored To Be In The Works For Disney+

Just one episode into The Mandalorian season two, it appears LucasFilm and Disney are already working to appease fans anxious for more. The final few moments of episode one featured the debut of Temuera Morrison as the legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and internet users collectively lost their minds. According to Deadline, a spinoff series focusing solely on Boba Fett may be in the works with filming beginning as early as this month.
While the initial report does not include too many details, sources close to the story claim the project will operate as a miniseries and shoot just before season three of The Mandalorian goes into production. Moreover, Temuera Morrison would likely star as Boba Fett. The actor previously appeared in Star Wars as Jango Fett, Commander Cody, and all the other clones during the prequels.

Boba Fett first appeared in the Star Wars Holiday Special, voiced by Don Francks. Afterward, Fett became a supporting antagonist portrayed by Jeremy Bulloch. A man of few words, Boba Fett is a Mandalorian bounty hunter under the employ of Jabba the Hut and the Galactic Empire. The character seemingly met an untimely demise during the events of Return of the Jedi. However, his inclusion in the second season of The Mandalorian presents a unique opportunity to flesh the character out a bit with an update on how he’s alive and what he’s been doing. At one point, a Boba Fett solo film was in development at LucasFilm as well.
The miniseries joins a bevy of Star Wars projects rumored to be in development for Disney+. Recently, shows featuring Lando Calrissian, Mace Windu, and Ahsoka Tano have been rumored. The unconfirmed slate will join the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi show and a female-centered series from Leslye Headland.
