Margot Robbie Confirms Jared Leto’s Joker Will Not Appear In ‘Birds Of Prey’

Margot Robbie first appeared as the iconic DC villain Harley Quinn in 2016’s Suicide Squad. However, her character had close connections with the Joker, played by Jared Leto. Robbie will reprise her role in a few future films. Up first is Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn) out in February. Unfortunately, Leto’s Joker may not be seen on the big-screen again.
During a recent discussion about her upcoming film Bombshell with Variety, Robbie revealed that Leto will not follow suit and reprise his role as the Joker in the upcoming team-up movie. This serves as confirmation that Leto will not even appear in a brief cameo in the film.

Over the last few years, rumors and reports of Leto and Robbie appearing in a Joker and Harley Quinn spinoff surfaced. However, following the release of the critically acclaimed Joker starring Joaquin Pheonix, it seems Warner Bros is moving away from Leto’s rendition of the classic Clown Prince of Crime.
Additionally, Robbie will appear as Harley Quinn in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. The sequel to 2016’s Suicide Squad will reportedly take a different spin on the characters. Moreover, Robbie will be joined by the likes of Idris Elba, Viola Davis, and 16-time WWE Champion John Cena in the upcoming film set for a 2021 release.
Leto, on the other hand, will star as the Living Vampire in Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man spinoff Morbius, in theaters July 31, 2020
