John Cena In Talks To Join ‘The Suicide Squad’

As first reported by Variety, James Gunn’s upcoming continuation of the Suicide Squad franchise is looking to add a big name to its cast in the form of the 16-time WWE Champion John Cena.
John Cena, who has followed in the steps of Dwayne Johnson and Dave Bautista in finding success in Hollywood following tenured careers in the WWE, is currently in talks to join James Gunn’s new take on the DC Comics characters. Previously, Cena has starred in 2018’s Bumblebee and Blockers, as well as a 17+ career in the world of professional wrestling. His certain brand of rugged action hero who can land a few good gags is perfect for the environment in which the Suicide Squad lives.
In the last few weeks, the news about the latest DC project in the works has been rather rampant. Between confirmation that Viola Davis and Jai Courtney would be reprising their roles to new that Idris Elba would not be rebooting Will Smith’s Deadshot, the film is shaping up nicely under the watchful eye of Gunn.
Now fans all over the world will begin to speculate just who Cena will play in the soft reboot of the original 2016 film.
