Brec Bassinger Will Appear As Stargirl In ‘Crisis On Infinite Earths’

In just a few short weeks, the Arrowverse will reach its epic climax. The Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover event will pit a bevy of characters from DC TV against the villainous Anti-Monitor. As first reported by Business Insider, Brec Bassinger, the star of the upcoming Stargirl series on the DC Universe streaming service, will appear as Stargirl in the crossover event.
Stargirl follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) as she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. It has been rumored that the series would air concurrently on the CW Network and DC Universe. That rumor was made official today on social media. However, her initial appearance will be brief and will reportedly explain how she fits in the larger DC live-action universe.
The CW has long been the home for DC TV. Series like The Flash and Arrow have created a smaller universe in which characters can interact and team-up, similar to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Unlike Titans and Doom Patrol, Stargirl series will be more family-friendly. This will make the transition to the CW Network rather simple.

The multiverse has been a recurring theme in the Arrowverse. Supergirl and Batwoman both take place on different versions of Earth than The Flash and Arrow. It is not known from which earth Stargirl will hail. Additionally, time travel has also played a big role in the overall narrative of the franchise as well. This will not be the first time the character has appeared on the CW. Sarah Grey (If I Stay) previously played Stargirl during season 2 of Legends of Tomorrow.
Stargirl will join the likes of multiple versions of Superman, Bruce Wayne, and other DC favorites in the upcoming crossover. Within the Crisis on Infinite Earths comic event, DC decided to eliminate their multiverse in favor of one single unified Universe. Many have theorized that the Anti-Monitor will have the same ambition when he goes head-to-head with a bevy of heroes. However, the villain will have to contest with every hero currently on the DC CW roster. Additionally, characters from other DC shows like Black Lightning and Lucifer are set to appear as well.
