Halle Berry & Angelina Jolie To Star In ‘Maude v Maude’ For Warner Bros.

Two of the biggest stars in cinematic history are going to join forces for a film for the first time. As first reported by Deadline, Halle Berry and Angelina Jolie have signed on to star in a new project in the works at Warner Bros. titled Maude v Maude.
In addition to their co-starring roles, Berry and Jolie will also serve as the film’s producers alongside Holly Jeter (Avatar), Jeff Kirschenbaum (The Gray Man), and Joe Roth (Maleficent). Roseanne Liang, who will soon direct the highly anticipated live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series for Netflix, is on board to helm the feature with a script by Scott Mosier (The Grinch).

Per the initial report, Warner Bros. will distribute the feature following a hotly-contested bidding war between multiple studios. However, plot details are being kept under wraps for the time being. Although, the movie is being described as a “Bond vs. Bourne” action thriller, which is very fitting given the number of action roles in both Berry and Jolie’s filmography.
Halle Berry won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in 2001’s Monster’s Ball, becoming both the only Black woman and the first (and for 21 years, the only) woman of color to have won the award. Most recently the actress starred in the Netflix film Bruised as well as the sci-fi thriller Moonfall. Up next, Berry will star alongside Mark Wahlberg and J.K. Simmons in Our Man from Jersey. Angeline Jolie won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in 1999’s Girl, Interrupted. The multi-talented actress also touts roles in recent hit films like Marvel’s Eternals and Those Who Wish Me Dead. Up next, Jolie will portray opera singer Maria Callas in an upcoming biopic.
