Mahershala Ali’s ‘Blade’ Movie Adds ‘Pearl’ Star Mia Goth

After going through several rewrites, Marvel Studios’ upcoming Blade project just got a very exciting update. According to Deadline, Pearl star Mia Goth has joined Mahershala Ali in Blade, the long-awaited reboot of the vampire-hunting superhero set to hit theaters in late 2024.
A superhero debut for Goth, the horror star joins Blade in an undisclosed role. Most recently, Goth starred in the second installment of Ti West’s trilogy Pearl, before lending her acting talents to Brandon Cronenberg’s Infinity Pool. Goth is more than familiar with the horror genre, making Blade a natural continuation of her growing filmography. Plot details are scarce, but Goth joins a star-studded cast that also includes Delroy Lindo, whose most recent work includes Da 5 Bloods and The Harder They Fall.

Blade has faced a lot of adversity behind the scene as of late. In addition to losing its director last year, and regaining one in Yann Demange, the script has been said to be the main culprit to the production delays. Originally meant for November 3, 2023, the release date was previously shifted to the back half of 2024. Marvel Studios is committed to getting Blade done, especially since the two-time Academy Award-winning actor is still attached to the titular role despite the road bumps.
Marvel Studios’ Blade is currently set to hit theaters on September 6th, 2024.
