Sadie Sink To Star In Searchlight’s Original Rock Opera ‘O’Dessa’

One of the brightest young actors on the planet right now is Stranger Things breakout Sadie Sink. As first reported by Deadline, the multitalented performer continues to add to her ever-growing list of roles in film and on TV with a starring role in a new film in the works titled O’Dessa.
Hailing from Searchlight Pictures, O’Dessa is reportedly an original rock opera that tells the story of a young farm girl. She must embark on a journey of epic proportions to recover a cherished family heirloom. However, the perilous quest leads her to a terrifyingly strange city where she meets her true love and attempts to save his soul through the power of destiny and song.
Sadie Sink will star in the film as the farm girl. Patti Cake$ director Geremy Jasper will helm the feature with a script he wrote himself. Searchlight Pictures is financing and distributing the movie which will feature original songs written and produced by Jasper and composer Jason Binnick. Searchlight Presidents Matthew Greenfield and David Greenbaum express their excitement for the rock opera in a statement accompanying the original report.

“We are so excited to be collaborating with Geremy again,” they said. “With O’dessa, he brings extraordinary and visceral energy to a whole new cinematic landscape.”
Sadie Sink’s career has taken off since starring in the worldwide cultural phenomenon Stranger Things. Most recently, Sink starred alongside Brendan Fraser in Darren Aronofsky’s psychological drama The Whale, for which she was nominated for the Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Young Performer. Up next, Sink will join Eric Bana in the upcoming film Berlin Nobody.
