Amazon Acquiring Rights To ‘Warhammer 40,000’ With Henry Cavill Attached

Henry Cavill might have officially hung up the cape as Superman, but he has already his next job lined up. He is attached to a television adaptation of Warhammer 40,000, a popular fantasy science-fiction game franchise. The series is being put together for Amazon Prime, THR has confirmed.
Amazon is in the final stages of acquiring the rights to the series. Warhammer 40,000 has no writer, showrunner, or cast other than Cavill, but it appears he will have a significant creative control over the project. The series will be executive produced by Vertigo Entertainment.

The impending acquisition highlights Amazon’s quest for dominance in the fantasy board game realm. They also have the rights to Vox Machina, which will have its second season released in July. Amazon is also wokring on other video game adaptations, including Fallout and God of War.
The news should come to no shock as Cavill is known for being a big fan of the game and frequently paints figures based on it. Cavill himself spoke about the news on his Instagram page, stating that ““I finally feel that I have the skill set and experience to guide a Warhammer Cinematic Universe into life.”
