Netflix’s ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Rounds Out Cast With George Takei, Danny Pudi, Amber Midthunder, & More

The highly anticipated live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series in the works at Netflix is quickly becoming one of the biggest projects for the streamer. Now, as first announced by Netflix themselves, the cast is getting even bigger with a few new, exciting additions.
Per the initial announcement, Prey stand-out Amber Midthunder will portray Princess Yue in the series with Hollywood icon George Takei joining as the voice of Koh. Additionally, Community star Danny Pudi is on-board to play the Mechanist.

The new additions join the previously cast Gordon Cormier (Aang), Kiawentiio (Katara), Ian Ousley (Sokka), Dallas Liu (Zuko), Elizabeth Yu (Azula), Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (Iroh, Daniel Dae Kim (Fire Lord Ozai), Maria Zhang (Suki), Tamlyn Tomita (Yukari), Yvonne Chapman (Avatar Kyoshi) and Casey Camp-Horinek (Gran Gran). Moreover, Utkarsh Ambudkar will play King Bumi while James Sie will reprise the role of the cabbage merchant from the classic animated series.
Albert Kim serves as showrunner and will executive produce as well as write for the series. Dan Lin and Lindsey Liberatore will also executive produce, along with Michael Goi. Goi, Roseanne Liang, Jabbar Raisani, and Jet Wilkinson are set to serve as directors on the show. Original creators DiMartino and Konietzko were once a part of production but have since parted ways with the project over creative differences.
