Marvel Studios has made quite the splash at San Diego Comic-Con with a number of reveals and announcements at their Hall H panel. In fact, during the panel, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige officially announced the Thunderbolts movie.
Created by Kurt Busiek and Mark Bagley in 1997, the team debuted in The Incredible Hulk #449. Originally presented as a new team of superheroes to replace the Avengers, it was revealed that they were actually the supervillain group, the Masters of Evil in disguise. Over time, the team would redeem themselves and eventually go through different iterations with various new members.
Jake Schreier is currently attached to direct the project. Previously, he worked on various music videos, including Kanye West’s “Follow God” and “Closed on Sunday” for Jesus Is King, and “I Know Alone” by Haim. Eric Pearson, who worked on Black Widow, is writing the screenplay for the film.
