‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Movies To Focus On Kyoshi, Zuko & Korra

New information regarding Avatar Studios’ upcoming slate of animated films has surfaced. According to Avatar News, the three movies currently in development will focus on Kyoshi, Zuko, and Korra, respectively.
It was confirmed during the 2022 Annecy International Animation Film Festival that Avatar Studios had three movies actively in the works. In addition, a prior report shared that two planned films were a prequel and one focused on Zuko. Now, this new report has clarified some details.
The first film in development is focused on Kyoshi, the most recent earth Avatar before Aang. This will serve as the prequel to the original Avatar: The Last Airbender series. This also explains the teaser shown to attendees at Annecy, which featured an Earth Kingdom fortress and the symbol for earth. It is unknown which part of Kyoshi’s life the film will focus on, but perhaps it could adapt the Rise of Kyoshi books.

Next, Avatar News has confirmed the Zuko film is the next project in development. It is unknown what the movie’s main plot would be but it could adapt The Search comic, which followed the original series and was a Zuko centric story.
Lastly, the third film in the works will reportedly take place during the age of Avatar Korra after her series. Much like the original series, Korra also had several comic book sequels, so it’s possible the film could adapt them.
Avatar News also included the currently scheduled release dates for the films. The dates may shift in the future, but as of now, the Kyoshi movie will release in 2024, Zuko in 2025, and Kyoshi in 2026.
