‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ Will Kick-Off New Trilogy

Following 2018’s Bumblebee, it seemed as though the Transformers franchise was in limbo. However, it appears that, during that time, creatives plotted a course for the “Robots in Disguise” starting with a new trilogy of films.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts was first announced back in 2020 when Creed 2 director Steven Caple Jr. was hired to tackle the soft reboot. Since then, the film gained star power from the likes of Ron Perlman, as well as In The Heights star Anthony Ramos. The film is slated to release theatrically in 2023.

The big news (though not incredibly shocking) is that Paramount is planning a whole new trilogy around this new film. It was safe to assume the film would breathe new life into the franchise to see it continue for 10-20 years into the future and it is unclear how it will factor into the previous entries popularized by Michael Bay.

With this announcement also came a release window of 2024 for a CG film set on Cybertron. The film was also announced in 2020 and is being touted as a prequel focusing on the relationship between Optimus Prime and Megatron. Not much else is known about the film at this time.
