Russell Crowe Boards Sony’s ‘Kraven The Hunter’
Russell Crowe is making the jump from the Dark Universe to Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters. The actor will join Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Kraven The Hunter.
The Oscar winner’s role is being kept under wraps for the time being, but it is heavily rumored most of the main characters in the film will be part of Kraven’s immediate family. So, it’s safe to expect Crowe to be sporting facial hair and a Russian accent in the film. The film is being directed by J.C. Chandor from a screenplay by Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Richard Wenk.
Kraven is considered one of Spider-Man’s deadliest enemies. The Russian big-game hunter has targeted the wall-crawler on many separate occasions. Kraven’s most famous storyline, Kraven’s Last Hunt, has been one many fans want to see played out on the big screen.
Kraven The Hunter is one of several projects in active development at Sony. Morbius will be released this April, along with a likely Venom threequel and the Dakota Johnson-led Madame Webb film. It’s unknown how Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will come into play, but it’s almost a certainty at this point that he appears at one point or another.
