The slate of current and upcoming Apple TV+ content is staggering. Thanks to hits like Ted Lasso and The Morning Show, the streaming service is showing zero signs of slowing down. Up next, Apple looks to bolster its catalog of original films with a new animated feature titled Luck. As first reported by Variety, the voice cast will feature an impressive ensemble led by Eva Noblezada and Simon Pegg.
They will join an absolutely stacked cast including Flula Borg, Lil Rel Howery, Colin O’Donoghue, John Ratzenberger, Adelynn Spoon, Whoopi Goldberg, and Jane Fonda. Kiel Murray (Raya and the Last Dragon), Jon Aibel, and Glenn Berger (Trolls) penned the film’s screenplay with Peggy Holmes (Hocus Pocus) directing.
Per the initial report, Luck follows the world’s unluckiest person, Sam Greenfield. After aging out of foster care, Sam finds herself on a grand adventure in search of the Land of Luck. However, along the way, she encounters a slew of magical creatures who help her change her life for good.
Eva Noblezada made her Broadway debut in a revival of Miss Saigon. Her performance received a nomination for a 2017 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical, making her one of the youngest nominees in the category. Additionally, she originated the lead role of Eurydice in Hadestown on Broadway. Up next, she joins Jo Koy in the upcoming comedy Easter Sunday. The latest casting continues Simon Pegg’s recent string of voice appearances as he will next lead his own Disney+ animated series Ice Age: Adventures of Buck Wild. The actor will also reprise his role as Benji in the next two Mission Impossible films. Whoopi Goldberg is a legend in the business who currently hosts The View. However, Goldberg will also return to the Star Trek universe in Star Trek: Picard on Paramount+.
