‘Ozark’ Star Julia Garner Boards Psychological Thriller ‘Apartment 7A’

In what feels like only a handful of years, Julia Garner has quietly carved a forceful presence of herself on screen. Now, the Ozark breakout looks to continue her success in a new nail-biter.
According to an exclusive report from Deadline, Garner will star in the suspense thriller, Apartment 7A, from Paramount Players, a recently founded extension of Paramount Pictures. Details surrounding the plot are scarce at this time. However, given the film’s production partners—John Krasinski‘s Sunday Night Productions and Michael Bay‘s Platinum Dunes—we can likely assume that chills and goosebumps will be abounding.
Thanks to her vicious performance as Ruth Langmore in Netflix’s backwoods crime drama, Ozark, there’s not a critic or TV streamer who doesn’t know and adore Garner. However, her talents extend far beyond the lakes of Missouri.

The two-time Primetime Emmy Award Winner has been acting in films since 2011, earning roles along the way in David Chase’s Not Fade Away, Robert Rodriguez‘s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, and Paul Weitz’s Grandma. She delivers her most notable performance to date in 2019’s underseen gem, The Assistant, in which she stepped into the role of a downtrodden junior assistant to an all-too-real degenerate producer.
In regard to its talent behind the camera, Natalie Erika James will direct Apartment 7A. Additionally, she co-wrote the script with her frequent collaborator, Christian White (Clickbait). James previously made her directorial feature film debut with 2020’s domestic horror picture, Relic, in addition to various spooky shorts throughout the last decade.
