(SPOILER) Reportedly Playing MODOK In ‘Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania’

Last week, rumors that iconic Marvel supervillain MODOK was making an appearance in the upcoming MCU film Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania. However, those rumors did not disclose who would play the character in the film. Now, thanks to insider Daniel Richtman, a new rumor points to Corey Stoll surprisingly stepping into the role in the third Ant-Man movie.
Stoll first appeared in the MCU as Darren Cross AKA Yellowjacket in 2015’s Ant-Man. However, the character was absent during the events of the 2018 sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp. This was due to the fact that his character was seemingly killed during the climax of the first movie. It is not yet clear how the character will return, nor how he becomes MODOK. As always, take the rumor with a grain of salt until confirmed by Marvel Studios.

Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, MODOK first appeared in 1967’s Tales of Suspense #93. An employee of Advanced Idea Mechanics, George Tarleton underwent an experiment to increase his intelligence. The experiment was a success, but the results led to a freakishly large head, which requires the character’s signature chair and looks. The character currently has an animated series, titled M.O.D.O.K, on Hulu starring Patton Oswalt. Additionally, he appears as the main antagonist in the recent Marvel’s Avengers video game.
Corey Stoll’s career highlights include roles in TV shows like House of Cards and The Strain and movies like Black Mass and First Man. Most recently, the actor appeared in the Sopranos prequel film The Many Saints of Newark. Up next, Stoll will appear alongside Rachel Zegler in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story.
